SCHOOL START-UP IN SEPTEMBER
Tuesday, September 6th will be a non-instructional day for staff. Students do not attend on this day. The first day of classes for students will be Wednesday, September 7th from 8:55 to 11:30 am. Please note the early dismissal time on the first day. Buses will run at the early dismissal time. The regular weekly schedule begins on Thursday, September 8th. Regular Weekly Schedule: Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri 8:55-3:05, Thurs 8:55-2:00
STRONG START 2022-23
Strong Start is in session at Walnut Park this year from 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Monday to Friday. The program is on a drop-in basis for children aged 5 or younger along with their caregiver. Please dress for the outdoors and be prepared to play outside daily. If you have any questions please have a look on Facebook at the “Welcome to Walnut Park Strong Start” page. The Strong Start program uses the side entrance of the school next to the parent parking lot.

ABOUT US
Designed with a strong emphasis on 21st-century learning, the new Walnut Park Elementary School in Smithers, BC aims to provide a better, healthier, and more flexible learning environment for 440 students from kindergarten to grade seven.
The two-story building is divided into learning neighbourhoods, each of which consists of several classrooms arranged around communal gathering areas. The school also features a 2-storey gym, tech rooms and a learning commons located on the second floor to serve as a venue for social activities, presentations and informal learning.
