Secondary aged students (grades 8-12) who wish to learn at home may enroll with BVEC full time. Please note that starting in April of 2023, BVEC can only enroll students that reside in the Bulkley Valley. Some of our students may spend time in our classroom, receiving help with their work, using resources available or simply connecting with other students.

Some full time BVEC students also take courses at Smithers Secondary School or Houston Secondary School for courses that BVEC cannot provide (Woodwork, Robotics, etc) provided that there is room within the school. Students in grades 10 to 12 may also take an online course with another online learning program, now referred to as a Provincial Online Learning School (POLS).

For full time BVEC students, some financial support (Learning Support Funds) may be available to support the Student Learning Plan, which may include internet costs. All full time secondary students are expected to complete a comprehensive Student Learning Plan in consultation with the parent and student before accessing our online courses.

Please refer to the Course Options links to see what courses are available through BVEC.
